Vanishing Girls Solution

The trick here isn’t to count the girls, since you’ll always end up with one more in the second photo. The trick is to count the girl “halves”. To do this, I numbered each girl’s top (head) and bottom (feet) independently then tracked their movement in both arrangements.

The result is that two of the girls in the second layout only use one “half” of a girl previously made up of two “halves”. This creates the visual impression of one “whole” additional girl. Ingenious!
