Most of my life has been spent
with my eyes below
the horizon.
When sunset comes,
I have missed the day and often
I have missed that I have missed it.
Oh to see the sun when it rises and follow it all day long!
To hold that vision when the shadows come;
and take it with me
to sustain me
until the next
sunrise…
